The Turkmenistan Goresh Wrestling Championship was held in the multifunctional sports complex of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports. More than 200 wrestlers from the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag, as well as regions of the country, took part in the competition organized by the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Physical Culture and Sports and the National Belt Wrestling Federation.

The Turkmen national wrestling competitions were held in 8 weight categories. The best in the 57 kg, 61 kg and 68 kg weight categories were students of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports. Muhammetarslan Geldiev won in the 57 kg category, Yakup Babayev – in the 62 kg category and Ykhlas Begmyradov – in the 68 kg category. In the 75-kilogram weight category, the victory was won Agayusup Garayev, by the coach of the sports school of the Tagtabazar district of the Mary region. Silapberdi Nuryev, who works in the Police Department of the Ahal region, won in the 82 kg weight category, and a student of the Turkmen State Institute of Finance Annagurban Allaberdiyev won in the 90 kg weight category. In the 100-kilogram weight category the serviceman of the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan Palvan Gurbangeldiev rose to the top step of the podium, and in the super heavyweight weight category over 100 kilograms the first place was taken by the coach of the sports school of the Bereket district of the Balkan region Ovezgeldi Berdiev.
