Cyclists from Turkmenistan Upgrade Their Skills in the Republic of Korea

From July 9 to 24, the city of Yeongju (Republic of Korea) hosted the official UCI Level 2 Coaching Course. The training took place within the framework of a youth road cycling tour organized by the World Cycling Centre (WCC) and the Korea Cycling Federation. Representatives from eight countries participated in the event: Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Cambodia, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Myanmar, Pakistan, and Turkmenistan, according to the electronic newspaper Turkmenistan: The Golden Age.

As a result of the training, Emir Jumayev, a coach at the Dashoguz region Sports School, successfully completed the accreditation and received an international certificate.

The UCI Level 2 course is aimed at developing the professional competencies of coaches working with elite and youth athletes. The curriculum included modules on sports physiology, training techniques, race tactics, data analysis, as well as practical sessions on both track and road cycling.

As part of the program, a three-stage competition was also held, in which young athlete Daniil Nurlyyev from the Turkmenistan Cycling Federation took part. He delivered a strong performance in the second stage – a mountainous 21-kilometer route – finishing in first place among 105 participants. He was awarded a medal and a trophy, and received a certificate titled Best Rider from the Korea Cycling Federation. Based on the overall results of all three stages, Daniil Nurlyyev placed fifth in the general classification.
