From 27 October to 8 November 2026, the Chinese city of Ningbo will host the World Weightlifting Championships. The upcoming tournament will be particularly significant for the athletes, as it will serve as the first qualifying event in the selection process for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Turkmenistan will be represented at the world championships by 11 athletes, who will compete against the strongest weightlifters on the planet. Three coaches will accompany the team to China, playing an important role in preparing the athletes and helping them achieve strong results.

The Turkmen national team is entering a new stage of the international sporting season. The World Championships in Ningbo will be not only a test of strength, technique and character, but also an important opportunity to take the first steps towards the Olympic goal.
